An IP camera sends a digital picture over a network cable and gives a higher resolution. An analog camera works over coaxial cable and suits an upgrade of an older system. For a new system we usually recommend IP.

PoE (Power over Ethernet) means the camera gets both power and data over one network cable, with no separate adapter or socket. It needs a PoE switch or an NVR with PoE ports.

An NVR records IP cameras, a DVR records analog cameras. An XVR is a hybrid recorder that takes both kinds.

Yes. During the installation we connect the recorder to the internet and set up the maker's app on your phone. The site needs an internet connection for it.
